Registered Dietitian / Executive Director Dawn Johnson, MS, RD Dawn is a Registered Dietitian and Executive Director of IMC Center for Nutrition & Weight Management. Dawn has hired and developed a multidisciplinary obesity treatment team that includes medical staff, registered dietitians, psychologists, exercise physiologists, and administrative staff. Between 1986 and 1991, Dawn established and directed a Flint area hospital's weight management program. In 1991, she was hired by Novartis Nutrition to support and train weight management centers across the country, and she did so through November of 2006. Dawn's education in Health Care Administration, and her 22 years of experience working with hospital-based obesity treatment centers have contributed significantly to her expertise in comprehensive weight management treatment. Dawn is a member of the American Dietetic Association (ADA) and is a founding member of the American Dietetic Association's Weight Management Dietetic Practice Group (WMDPG). Dawn also serves on the Executive Board of the Genesee County Humane Society.
Registered Dietitian / Program Manager Jorene Marth, MA, RD Jorene is a Registered Dietitian and Program Manager for the IMC Center for Nutrition & Weight Management. She has twenty years of experience working in the field of weight management and obesity treatment within two different hospital systems. In addition to her involvement in the treatment of obesity, Jorene was a Research Coordinator for several obesity-related research protocols conducted at the Rochester Center for Obesity Research (RCOR). Publications pertaining to this research may be found in: Obesity Research, (2004), FASEB Journal, (2004), Journal of the American College of Nutrition, (2005), International Journal of Food Science and Nutrition, (2007). Jorene received her Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition from Michigan State University and her Master's degree in Health Care Administration. Jorene is a member of the American Dietetic Association (ADA) and The Obesity Society (NAASO).
Registered Dietitian / Medical Nutrition Therapy Mary Boyhtari, MEd, RD Mary received her Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from Madonna University and her Master's degree in Health Education from Wayne State University. She has worked as a clinical dietitian for nine years, providing medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling to both hospitalized individuals and outpatients at the Detroit Medical Center, Greenfield Health Systems, and Hurley Medical Center. During this time, Mary has also conducted classes on diabetes nutrition care, cardiovascular nutrition, weight loss and weight management, and child nutrition. In addition, Mary is interested in childhood nutrition issues and weight management. She has worked in the Holly Area School District, providing child nutrition classes and coordinating a walking program for children. Mary is a member of the Michigan Dietetic Association (MDA) and the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
